Fingers swell in heat and shrink in cold. Measure at room temperature for best accuracy. Sizes can shift by up to half a size.
Fingers are naturally larger in the evening due to daily activity and fluid retention. Evening measurements give the most comfortable fit.
Your dominant hand's fingers are typically half a size larger than your non-dominant hand. Most women wear rings on the left hand.
Hormonal changes and fluid retention during pregnancy can increase ring size by 1โ2 sizes. Size may return to normal after delivery.
Exercise, salty foods, and alcohol can cause temporary swelling. Avoid measuring after intense activity or a heavy meal.
Wide bands (over 6mm) feel tighter than narrow bands. If choosing a wide band, go up half a size from your normal measured size.
Cut a thin strip of paper about 1 cm wide and 10 cm long. Non-stretch thread works just as well.
Wrap the paper snugly around the base of your left ring finger. Make sure it can pass over your knuckle comfortably.
Mark where the strip overlaps with a pen. The length from the end to the mark is your finger circumference.
Place the strip against a ruler and read the measurement in mm. Enter it into the calculator above to instantly find your size.
