The chart selects the closest Indian whole-number size by physical circumference. A seller may offer different intermediate sizes or rounded values, so use the millimetre columns when confirming an order.
Some Australian sizes line up very closely with a published Indian measurement. AU F, for example, is approximately 43.6 mm circumference, which corresponds directly with Indian size 4 on the chart used here. AU L is approximately 51.2 mm and corresponds directly with Indian size 11. These are straightforward conversions.
Other AU sizes fall between Indian whole numbers. AU M is about 52.5 mm circumference. The nearest Indian chart points are size 12 at approximately 51.9 mm and size 13 at approximately 53.1 mm. Both are around 0.6 mm away, so the tool may select the closer value after calculation while the practical buying choice can depend on band width, knuckle size, comfort preference and the seller's available increments.
The Australian system includes half-letter steps, while the reference Indian chart uses whole numbers. AU N and AU Nยฝ are separate Australian sizes, but both can be closest to Indian size 14 depending on the exact published circumference. This does not indicate an error. It shows that the two systems divide the physical size range differently.
For a custom order, send the Australian label, the measured circumference and the measured inner diameter. A clear request could read: โMy comfortable Australian size is Nยฝ. The ring measures approximately 17.3 mm inside diameter and 54.4 mm inside circumference. Please confirm the corresponding size on your production mandrel.โ This gives the maker enough information to resolve chart differences.
Ring fingers on the left and right hands can differ. Measure the hand on which the new ring will actually be worn, and do not copy a size from a different finger.
Choose a round ring that fits the correct finger. Lay it flat and measure straight across the inner opening through the centre. Exclude the metal edges and record the result in millimetres to one decimal place.
Wrap a narrow non-stretch paper strip around the finger base, mark the overlap and measure the length. The strip should be comfortable, should not compress the skin and must still represent a loop that can pass over the knuckle.

AU Pยฝ measures approximately 57.0 mm around the inside and about 18.1 mm across. Indian size 17 is listed near the same circumference and diameter, so the conversion is approximately India 17.
AU T is around 61.4 mm circumference. Indian size 21 is near 60.8 mm and size 22 is near 62.1 mm, so AU T sits between them. A narrow band may be comfortable near the lower option for some wearers, while a wide design may require the larger choice. Confirm with the maker rather than relying only on the label.
India 14 is a regional label, not 14 mm circumference or a guaranteed 14 mm diameter.
AU N and Nยฝ are different physical sizes. Do not remove the half mark when ordering.
