Measure the finger on which the ring will actually be worn. The same finger on the opposite hand can differ, especially on the dominant hand. Remove other rings and allow the hand to rest before measuring.
Cut a strip of ordinary paper about 5โ8 mm wide or use a flexible non-elastic tape. Avoid elastic thread, thick cord and soft string that can tighten, twist or sink into the skin.
Place the strip at the ring's intended position. It should touch the skin without compressing it. Check that the loop can pass over the knuckle with gentle resistance, particularly if the knuckle is wider than the finger base.
Use a fine pen to mark where the strip overlaps. Lay it flat and measure from the starting edge to the mark. A length of 54 mm is approximately metric circumference size 54. Do not confuse 5.4 cm with 54 mm when entering the calculator.
