A complete 2026 Costa Rica ring size guide: measure your finger or an existing ring, calculate the nearest Costa Rica/US size, compare EU and UK conversions, and use the printable diameter reference before ordering jewellery.
Wrap a narrow non-stretch paper strip around the intended finger, mark the overlap, measure the length in millimetres, and use the calculator or Costa Rica ring size chart below.
Many Costa Rican jewellers and local jewellery ateliers list rings with the US numeric system, including whole and half sizes such as 6, 6.5 and 7. However, imported jewellery may show European circumference numbers, UK letters or a seller-specific chart. For that reason, this Ring Measure in Costa Rica guide treats the US size as the main result and displays EU, UK and Spanish-style equivalents as secondary references. Always compare the result with the individual shop's own sizing guide before buying.

The same finger on the left and right hands can differ. Measure the finger on which the ring will actually be worn, especially for engagement rings, wedding bands and signet rings.
Cut a narrow paper strip, wrap it around the finger base and keep it comfortably snug. Avoid elastic thread because it can stretch and produce a ring size that is too small.
Where the knuckle is wider than the finger base, test both points. A correct ring should pass over the knuckle with gentle resistance but should not spin loosely at the base.
Mark the exact overlap, open the strip and measure from the starting edge to the mark. Enter that number as finger circumference in millimetres in the Costa Rica ring size calculator.
Measure three times when your hands feel normal. Hot afternoons, exercise, long walks and cold air-conditioning can temporarily change finger size. When repeated readings sit between two sizes, the larger half size is usually the safer starting point.
Use a round, comfortable ring already worn on the correct finger. A ring from another finger can give a misleading result.
Lay the ring flat and measure straight across the widest internal point through the centre. Do not include the metal edges. Record the inside diameter to the nearest 0.1 mm when possible.
Turn the ring by 90 degrees and repeat. If the two readings differ, the ring may be slightly oval; use the average only as a rough guide and ask a jeweller to verify it.
Select Existing Ring Inner Diameter in MM, enter the reading and compare the suggested Costa Rica / US size with the chart and the seller's product page.
Example: 5.44 cm = 54.4 mm circumference.
Example: 17.3 mm = 1.73 cm inner diameter.
Use the inner diameter, not the outside width.
Useful when comparing a paper-strip reading with a ring.
A 54.4 mm circumference is commonly shown near EU 54.
EU 54 is roughly Spanish size 14.
First check the 50 mm calibration line with a physical ruler. Then place a well-fitting ring over the circles and match the inside edge of the ring to the closest circle. Screen display is only a preview; physical accuracy depends on printing at true size.
Wide wedding bands cover more skin and may need extra room compared with a narrow ring.
Warm weather and exercise can temporarily make fingers feel fuller; cold conditions can do the opposite.
The ring must clear the knuckle while staying secure at the finger base.
Dominant and non-dominant hands may not have identical finger dimensions.
Elastic material can tighten or stretch, changing the measured circumference.
Rounded interiors can feel different from flat interiors at a similar measured diameter.
Costa Rica's Ministry of Economy, Industry and Commerce (MEIC) states that consumers have a right to clear, truthful and timely information about goods, including characteristics, composition, quality and price. Keep the seller's written sizing and return terms in case the delivered ring differs from the description.
