How to Find Your Ring Size at Home

Use a narrow non-stretch paper strip at the base of the intended finger. Mark the overlap, measure the length in millimetres and enter that circumference in the calculator. The result gives a practical US size plus approximate UK and EU equivalents. Use millimetres as the common language between sizing systems

There is no clearly documented Afghanistan-only ring size number that can safely be assumed for every shop. A Kabul goldsmith may work directly from a sample ring or physical sizing set, while imported jewellery can arrive with US, UK, European or manufacturer-specific labels. Handmade Afghan rings may also be sold by inner diameter rather than a regional size code.

For a reliable order, give the seller the exact finger circumference in millimetres, the existing ring’s inner diameter when available, and the named international size. In Dari, اندازه انگشتر refers to ring size, while قطر داخلی means inner diameter. Clear numbers are more important than relying on terminology alone.

Afghan-made rings can include lapis lazuli, carnelian, turquoise, emerald or engraved metalwork. Large stones, broad shoulders and decorative shanks affect balance and resizing, so the intended design should be considered before the final size is approved.
