In everyday French jewellery retail, taille de bague usually follows the inner circumference in millimetres. It is broadly aligned with the common European metric designation, so French size 54 and EU size 54 normally refer to approximately the same physical circumference. Conversion to US or UK sizes is approximate because those systems use different steps.
