Choose the finger on which the ring will actually be worn. The same named finger can differ between the left and right hand, while a ring that fits the index finger will not reliably fit the ring finger. Remove other jewellery and let your hand settle before measuring.

There is no safe rule that every Indonesian ring number follows one national sequence. A major local retailer publishes a Hong Kong-style table from size 5 to 30, while other shops may offer US numbers, Singapore/Japan sizes, European circumference values or a simple diameter chart. This mixed market is why โsize 15โ is incomplete information unless the chart or millimetre dimension is also known.
The most reliable cross-brand language is physical measurement. For a local/Hong Kong-style size 15, state the complete reference as approximately 17.3 mm inner diameter and 54.3 mm circumference. When a product page lists only US sizes, use the same measurement to choose the nearest US entry rather than copying the number 15 into the US selector.
Useful Indonesian phrases include ukuran cincin (ring size), lingkar jari (finger circumference), diameter dalam cincin (inner ring diameter), cincin tunangan (engagement ring) and cincin kawin (wedding ring). Quoting these terms with the millimetre value makes communication with a store or custom goldsmith much clearer.
